A short film about masking in the workplace. Made in 2024. Masking happens when you wish to show the best version of yourself. It is not inherantly a bad thing, however it can be when someone does it too much. A lot of neurodivergent people struggle with excessive masking, resulting in symptoms like severe exhaustion or depression.

This film was part of my graduation at ArtEZ University of the Arts. I created a mixed media artstyle to represent the effect of masking. The style has a base of film, an overlay of artificial intelligence, and a final overlay with frame by frame animation. The project is made with the most sustainable form of artificial intelligence, lessening it’s impact on the environment and limiting it’s copyright breach of other artists.

The film was shown during a limited time exhibition at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, The Netherlands, from the 3rd till 7th of july 2024.
